Our 110 sqm apartment on the first floor of an ancient roman building is only steps from Campo De Fiori, once used as grounds for public executions and now a vibrant farmers market by day and a popular meeting point at night. Capital punishments used to be held publicly in Campo dei Fiori, as well as a thriving horse and cattle market. Here, on 17 February 1600, the philosopher Giordano Bruno was burnt alive by the Roman Inquisition because his ideas were deemed dangerous. In 1887 Ettore Ferrari dedicated a monument to him on the exact spot of his death: he stands defiantly facing the Vatican, reinterpreted in the first days of a reunited Italy as a martyr to freedom of speech. Upon entering the building, the antiquity of the city is doubly felt, due to the roman style brick work composing the entrance. Space, comfort, and tons of natural light are the outstanding features of this apartment, as well as amenities like a washer, full kitchen, 2 portable a/c units, satellite tv, and a tub for relaxing after a day about town. Ideally located for those who like to explore Rome on foot, and full of all one needs for any long or short term stay, Redi is where simplicity meets beauty.
