Definitely for the discerning traveler, our elegant Clovio apartment is ideally located in one of the most exclusive districts in Rome's historic center. With a view of the dome of the Basilica of Largo San Carlo al Corso, the beating heart of the eternal city, and Rome's most fantastic high end shopping awaits you at your doorstep. The church was built during the XVIIth century, mainly by Onorio Lungi and his son Martino, with a dome designed by Pietro da Cortona. The façade was designed by Cardinal L. Omodei, who was paying for it, and did not like the project prepared by Carlo Rainaldi. The area behind the church was the object of vast excavations in the 1930s to return the Mausoleum of Augustus to its original shape after its use as a theatre. The apse of the church was isolated from the other buildings and a coat of arms of Pius XI celebrated the event, but the eagle of the Pope has the same rigidity as the eagle of the Fascist regime of the time and the keys of St. Peter perform the function of the arrows. Clovio itself reflects the area's elegance in its thoughtful touches and tastefully refined decor, realizing the full potential of this bright apartment. Pristine white furniture blends to perfection with parquet floors, rich wooden furniture, and having every amenity at your disposal. Fully equipped, and comfortable enough for 7 people, Clovio can handle a stay of any length, and is the factor that makes a good vacation a great vacation.
